AHMEDABAD: Four different
complaints of cheating have been filed in various police stations in the
city in which funds to the tune of Rs 1.25 crore were embezzled. In the first incident, Mahasukh Tanna, a cloth merchant in Kalupur and
resident of Avanti Bungalows, Shyamal crossroad, Satellite, has alleged
in his complaint with Kalupur police station that Haresh Nandlal and
Hasanand Madhavdas, both residents of Panchkuva, Dipak Radhani and
Mahesh, both residents of Kubernagar, refused to pay him for dress
materials worth Rs 1.14 crore which they had purchased from him in the
past eight to nine months.
Tanna also accused the foursome of threatening him when he asked them for the payment.
In another case, Dr Nilesh Shah a resident of Gulbai Tekra, alleged that some unidentified miscreant had misused his credit card by making online purchases worth Rs 27,732. In his complaint with Ellisbridge police, Dr Shah alleged that someone had hacked his credit card password and used it online on January 10 at 12.20 pm. In the third incident, Amit Agarwal, a resident of Satellite, has alleged that three employees of the State Bank of India (SBI) life insurance made bogus documents of his residence and other proofs and fore closed his policy worth Rs 10.21 lakh. Agarwal accused SBI life insurance officials - Chitrasan Rajput, Babubhai Patel and Aashish Shah of siphoning off the money.
In the fourth case, Shobhana Patel, a resident of Amraiwadi, alleged that a lady who identified herself as Meenaben took her to Govindwadi area where she duped her of her gold ornaments worth Rs 37,500. The Amraiwadi police have registered a complaint of cheating in this regard.
