Woman abets rape of daughter-in-law

AHMEDABAD: A 19-year-old lodged a complaint on Thursday with the Vatva police against her mother-in-law and others for sexually exploiting and raping her at her matrimonial home in Pali of Rajasthan.
The Vatva police have registered the complaint and transferred it to the Rajasthan police for further action.
The victim was married on March last year to a youth from Pali. According to the complaint, after marriage the boy left for Mumbai for employment. The victim has alleged that when her father-in-law used to go to the farm, the mother-in-law sexually exploited her. The older woman intimidated the victim into silence and continued to exploit her till January 14. But the victim's trouble only increased after this, as her tormentor brought in a jeep driver who raped her. Because the girl did not complain to her father-in-law or others, raping continued daily till January 19.
The complainant revealed that when she began having health problems, her in-laws sent her to her paternal home in Ahmedabad. She narrated the horror to her mother, who took her to a local NGO for legal guidance. On the intervention by the organization, the victim lodged the complaint.
