Bhopal splashes some more culture colours

Vivid expressions: A three-day long Odissi dance festival titled Bhavanubhav recently concluded at Bharat Bhavan, which had renowned classical dancer Dona Ganguly as the star attraction. Dance lovers thronged the auditorium, which saw jam-packed attendance on all three days, to witness the cultural fiesta. "This is my second performance at Bharat Bhavan, and I feel honoured to have got another chance to be at such a prestigious platform," Dona Ganguly said.
Everyone seated in the audience couldn't stop gushing over the fact that Dona, being cricketer Sourav Ganguly's wife, had no starry airs to her and came across as a down-to-earth artiste. "Dona is such a good dancer and is also very graceful. And despite being a cricketer's wife, she is so friendly and warm," said Vandana Rakesh, a Delhi-based painter who had come to Bhopal to participate in a ceramic camp held at Bharat Bhavan. Trisha Kaushik, a BHEL employee and also a classical dancer, remarked, "I especially came here to see Dona. She has her own very identity and possesses an endearing personality."
Dancing delight: On the second day of Bhavanubhav, Delhi-based classical dancer, Supriya Nayak, won the hearts of the audience with her performance. Her Radha-Krishana leela was appreciated by everyone. Supriya, while sharing her experience in Bhopal, said, "It's a beautiful place full of natural beauty, something which has become very rare nowadays. It's a good feeling to perform in front of such a lovely audience, who know how to appreciate art." Supriya's performance was followed by Kolkata-based classical dancer Ayona Bhaduri's act that again won a huge round of applause from the audience. The third day had Vijan K Pallai, a Bhubaneswar-based dancer's, act. Vijan said, "This is the first time I am performing in Bhopal. I have heard a lot about Bharat Bhavan and it feels great to finally be able to perform here." The concluding act was presented by Bindu Juneja , a Bhopal-based dancer.
