SC wants CBI officers to scrutinize Niira Radia transcripts

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has said it wants to appoint a team of CBI officers to scrutinize the entire transcripts of corporate lobbyist NiiraRadia's telephone intercepts to segregate those linked to criminality from others which are purely private in nature.
An apex court bench of justice GS Singhvi and SJ Mukhopadhya said it has gone through some of the transcripts and has found some conversations which would require further investigations.
There are transcripts of 5,800 tapped telephone conversations of Niira Radia with politicians, corporate honchos including former Tata Chief Ratan Tata.
Excerpts from the tapes earlier leaked in the media had sparked a political storm with the conversations bringing out the nature of corporate lobbying and also its purported impact on politics.
