On the occasion of World Cancer Day, cricketer Yuvraj Singh, a cancer survivor, met many other cancer survivors
in Gurgaon at an afternoon organized by YOUWECAN. He told everyone that
he didn't want to talk about cricket, and said, "Life is much more than
sports. We will give cricket a rest today."
Many videos of Yuvraj were shown to the guests where he was seen joking with his mother Shabnam, who was also present here. She said, "Last year was different for us. But my son is a fighter. One night he would cry saying, 'I can't do this', but the next day he would be there on the field practising."
Satinder Sartaaj, a Sufi singer, sang a few songs at the occasion. He said, "It was a proud moment for me when I was told that Yuvraj used to listen to my song Sai during his recovery."
After seeing a video of Yuvraj where he was joking with someone about tying a sehra, saying, "kabhi toh meri shaadi hogi", many got curious to know when he will tie the knot. To this, he said, "I know many are interested to know when I will get married. Meri maa kehti hain ki jab unke baal white ho jaayein tab shaadi karna."
